Gravity
High above a forest with a river running through it a mountain stood as it had stood for years. During one of those years a hawk flew even higher above the mountain with a squirrel held tight in its talons when a small acorn fell from the squirrels mouth down onto a ledge next to a huge rock mass part of the mountain. The acorn undisturbed grew into a tree on the ledge overlooking the forest and the river that ran through it.During a storm a bolt of lightning flashed from a dark sky shooting down striking the tree and cracking the rock mass. A piece of the rock mass broke free tumbling down the side of the mountain near the smoldering tree. it landed below in thicket and leaves. There it sat through the changing of the leaves and then covered in snow then when from underneath frozen ground green shoots broke a man found the rock. He used it with others to encircle a fire pit. It sat there dusty and jagged along with them all. Small hands found the rock. A boy ready to make a large splash. A family camping trip next to the rivers edge needed just that which the rock when pitched did. It sunk in a shallow point in the river just below the surface. its rough edges were where branches and leaves while floating would get snagged eventually trapping sand. the river which once flowed straight past that point started to bend. Fish especially Salmon spawned in the shallow water. Their eggs finding refuge around the rock a safe placeuntil it is time for them to swim the grown fish way towards the ocean or a much bigger place.
I Can Not Say
Today my life is this way, not at all the way i imagined it would be years ago on a certain day
Tomorrow how it will be...imagining....but for a certainty...i can not say
